MEL Integration introduction
Aircrafts can have long term MEL restrictions that must be adhered to ensure safe operation. Maintenance issues can also add short-term MEL restrictions that change often.

Flight Planning personnel can find it difficult to adhere to these rapidly changing restrictions and errors are all too easy to make with resulting safety implications or implications to the operational efficiency and effectiveness.
PPS makes the managing of MEL restrictions an automatic process. Once an aircraft or type has had a MEL restriction added or removed in the MEL data file, PPS ensures that the active MEL restrictions are always adhered to and used for Flight Planning purposes.
If MEL restrictions are not adhered to at the Flight Planning stage, warnings are provided and if MEL restrictions have been applied and used in the PPS calculation information is also provided to remind the Flight Planning personnel.
