MEL Data visual output in PPS

When a MEL item is active for a flight a summary is provided in the preview window under a MEL tab that appears (see image below). MEL items are listed allowing the user to get a full understanding of what is affecting the aircraft. Where a limitation is imposed it is listed. In the example below a limitation of FL100 for MEL item 21-3(B).

Dispatch Guide Item

During the dispatch process, if a MEL Item is active then the dispatcher must acknowledge the red warning (see image below). After the dispatcher has ensured that the MEL item has been adhered to they acknowledge the warning and the flight can be processed as normal.

Operational Flight Log

The MEL items can be listed in the Operational Flight Log if certain star codes are in used in the Flight Log layout editor.
The star codes required are listed below:

• MEL INFO (Shows the MEL info text from the MEL data file
  *MELINFO
  
• MELITEMNO (Shows all MEL items applicable for the flight
  *MELITEMNO

If both of these star codes shown above are used then information is printed to the Operational Flight Log, as demonstrated below:
