How to enable EASA fuel rules and change the OFP

To begin with the user needs to ensure that they have rights to make changes within the Settings Manager and ensure that they select an account to edit. If no Account is selected for editing then the tickboxes and drop-downs will be ‘greyed out’ and unavailable.

The changes that have been introduced still allow PPS8 to function exactly as it has done beforehand for non-EASA users, but now PPS8 can also function to adhere with the updated EASA Fuel Rules, EU 2021/1296 and EASA ED Decision 2022/005/5.

Open PPS Option User

Find your PPS8 Options User in your computers Start menu and open this Settings Manager as “Run as Administrator” to be able to access Corporate data.
Click on the top tab labeled Corporate Data and select your specific account in the dropdown.

Tick the Use EASA fuel scheme and press Save in the bottom of the Settings Manager

Restart PPS

Prepare your OFP

In the PPS8 Fuel Profile the profiles remain the same when switching to the EASA Fuel Rules apart from Company Fuel which becomes Extra Fuel and Extra Fuel which becomes Discretionary.

It should be noted when EASA Fuel Rules are enabled that all of the Star Codes that the user is familiar with on the OFP will remain the same. There has been no changes to Star Codes.
The system is designed to use the Legacy Star Codes for the new EASA Fuel Rules, the star code for Company Fuel will also be used for Extra Fuel, and the star code for Extra Fuel will be used for Discretionary Fuel etc.
