Exclude NOTAMs, Q-code
Larger sets of NOTAMs deemed irrelevant to specific operations can be excluded from the briefing package using the Q-code exclusion feature.
All NOTAMs are categorized in a Q-code system sorting them based on the applicability of the included information.
A decode table regarding the specific codes can be seen in Q-Code help (3) in the top right corner.
The feature is access through the company settings by clicking Specified in Exclude NOTAMs with Specified Q-Code.
Main window
The main window displays all the currently excluded q-codes. The selected codes can also be managed from this list. See page summary below.

Show NOTAMs
When clicking show NOTAMs the window seen below will appear. Two selections can be made either display all NOTAMs connected to the selected Q-code or display only NOTAMs connected to a specific FIR or airport.
The selected NOTAMs will be listed below in the same window.
How to exclude Q NOTAMs
To exclude a specific- or a group of codes, click Manage Q-code exclusion (2).
This will open the exclusion view where specific codes can be selected. Follow the step-by-step guide to create an exclusion:
Step1: Code configurations
Select one of the three code configurations to use based on the required code filtering:
- Full code: Exclude all NOTAMs linked to a specific q-code
- 2nd and 3rd letters: Exclude all NOTAMs linked to the 2nd and 3rd letter of the code. The 4th and 5th can be any characters.
E.g., QAC?? - 4th and 5th letters: Exclude all NOTAMs linked to the 4th and 5th letter of the code.
The 2nd 3rd can be any characters.
E.g., Q??AM.
Step 2: Find the proper Q-code
Find the proper Q-code in the list. Select the applicable area to be targeted by the code
- APT: The NOTAMs will only be excluded if they are related to Airports
- FIR: The NOTAMs will only be excluded if they are related to FIRs
- Both: Both Airport- and FIR NOTAMs will be excluded.
If the code can’t be found in the list, use the manual addition to add it as an exclusion.
If a previous exclusion is being modified, finish the applicability modification by pressing Change. A notification will pop-up indicating that the settings have been saved.
Step 3: Finalize the exclusion
When all selections are done, click Exclude XXXXX codes to exclude the selection from the briefing package. If the Q-code is to be reincluded, click Reinclude XXXXX code.
