Escape Route user guide

Start up the PPS Flight Planning System by clicking on time the PPS FLIGHT PLANNING icon.

1: Create a NEW flight plan

In this example following airports are used: UNKL-UTDL/Altn UTTT.

2: Diversion Airports

Go to “Route” and create the required route.

  • – Then go to “Adequate Airports” and select the diversion airports needed for the driftdown procedure.
  • – To select the airport for Driftdown purpose, enter a tick mark next to each airport.
  • – Click “Apply” and “Close”.

3: Driftdown Methods Configuration

  • Go to “Flight Plan” and select “Advanced Analysis” to enter AeroData menu.
  • To select Driftdown configuration go to “Enroute” and configure Driftdown requirements.
  • Press “Cancel” to leave AeroData menu.

4: Terrain Analysis

  • Continue through normal steps down to “Dispatch”
  • Select “Terrain Analysis” and the system will do the driftdown calculation Method 1 or Method 2
  • When calculation is completed the Driftdown Report will automatically be added to OFP (Operational Flight Plan). The result can be checked under the “Flightlog” tab on last page.
