Adequate Airports – Setup
The Adequate Airports feature allows the user to select airports that meet certain criteria such as minimum runway length for alternates along a route. The process to select Adequate Airports is described in this section.
Add Adequate in settings
It is possible to obtain a printout in the Flightlog for the Adequate Airports. To enable this feature you must open the control panel for the PPS Program Settings as shown on the image. There are 2 settings that must be set to TRUE as shown below:
- AttachAdequateAPPToLog (Attach the Adequate Airport to the Flightlog).
- GenerateAdequateAPTList (Generate the Adequate Airport List).

Adequate Airports in PPS

When PPS finds Adequate Airports the default list calculation will be over 5000 airports, so this can take a short time to display. Not all airports will be applicable to your route, so to limit the number of Adequate Airports shown on the Flightlog you must enter the Adequate Airports window from the Dispatch tab as shown below:

All the Adequate Airports along the route are displayed and you need to ‘tick’ the relevant box depending upon which Adequate Airport you want to receive weather and NOTAM information for.
In the example above just EKEB and EKSB have been ticked purely for demonstration purposes. Note that the SET-IMC Risk Analysis will only show any Airports that have been ticked.
If the user needs to add additional Adequate Airports they can use the Add Airport field at the bottom of this screen shot.
Adequate Airports on CB flights
When the user opens CrewBriefing and clicks on a relevant flight it is possible to get a printout of the weather and NOTAMs relating to the Adequate Airports. In the example above just EKEB and EKSB have been ticked so when the selected flight shown below has weather and NOTAMs ticked, then you get these details for the Adequate Airports in addition to the usual Dep, Dest and Altn.

You can click either of ‘WX’ and ‘NOTAMS’ to view individual PDFs or you can click Next that will take you to a webpage where you can get all of your ‘ticked’ choices in one PDF via the Download Flight Information button. See the CrewBriefing manual for more information regarding this topic.
Adequate Airports – Charts
Adequate Airport Charts can also be produced for the CrewBriefing PDF that graphically show predetermined time-based range rings centered on the selected Adequate Airports. For example, there might be an aviation authority requirement to prove that flights are within 60 minutes of an Adequate Airport and this chart would support that.

The user needs to ensure that data is entered into the Aircraft Data file, see guide here.
After Adequate Airports has been set-up and the CrewBriefing website has been accessed view the relevant flight. Expand the Wind/T Charts and the Adequate Airport Charts check boxes become available to tick.

Ensure that at least one check box has been ticked in the Adequate Airport Charts row, as shown below.

This will then provide an Adequate Airport Chart. The Adequate Airports Chart tick boxes shown above will only be visible if it has been set up using an Administration account and selected within the Weather Charts Preselection.
