Adequate Airports are not listed in OFP / FPL

If you cannot see your Adequate Airport List when creating a FPL, it might be several reasons:

  • Attach Adequate Airport APT to Log and Generate Adequate APT List in your PPS settings are not activated / not set as True
  • No route is selected in Route guide Item
  • If you have created a city pair (DEP and DEST) in the ADEQUATE tab in PPS Data Editor and no close Adequate airports to the route are listed for this city pair.
  • You have added several separate Adequate Airports in the ADEQUATE list but none of these airports are within the route for your specific flight.
  • The Minimum Runway Length is set to high.

Activate Adequate Airports in PPS

To active the function in PPS, please navigate to your PPS Tray on your computer, right-click on the PPS icon and select the Settings option.

If you have multiple accounts installed on your computer, please check you are modifying the correct account. See lower left corner to verify.

Press PPS Program and find the to settings:
– AttachAdequateAirportAPTtoLog and
– GenerateAdequateAPTList

If indicated False, please toggle the drop down window to True and press Save

Please restart PPS and make a new FPL.

Route not selected in PPS

If no route is selected then PPS cannot calculate which airports are in vicinity of the track.
Select a route and the Adequate airport(s) will be listed.

No adequate airport listed in ADEQUATE

Please check if the specific city pair is correct. In the below example the adequate airports are far away from the city pair (DEP: EKBI in Denmark and DEST: Nürnberg in Germany and the 2 adequate airports are in Italy and Greece.

If the adequate airports are +60 min from the track they will not be listed.

Adequate not close to route

If you have added a long list with separate airports in the ADEQUATE list, PPS will only use these Adequate airports.

If none of the airports are close to the specific route in PPS, it will not select any airports and make calculations.

Minimum Runway Length is set incorrect

Check if your slidebar is set to high so i will filter many of your adequate airports.
Note: PPS will automatically hide runway shorter than added in your Aircraft file as Minimum Required (Alternate RWYL ft)
